 Proposed Soin-Koru Dam; Drilling of 40 boreholes, 20 – 100 m each, insitu and laboratory testing, and reporting (ongoing).

Proposed Bridges at Karatina and Marua by KeNHA where a total of 7 boreholes were advanced to a maximum depth of 25 m below ground level. The scope also involved the installation of 7 piezometers for monitoring the groundwater levels at the bridge sites (2021-2022).

  • Geotechnical survey for the proposed 35 MW Menengai Geothermal Power Plant in Menengai, Nakuru County. Rock Link was contracted by AEA Limited to drill 3 boreholes, excavate 4 trial pits and execute in-situ DCP and electrical resistivity (ER) tests (2021).
  • Geotechnical investigation in support of the proposed Vegetable Oil Bulk Storage Facility in Embakasi. The project by Gas Petro Bulk Limited consisted of 2 core borings (each to 20 m below ground level) and 7 trial pits (2021).
  • Near-shore geotechnical investigation for the proposed Green Ship Recycling and Steel Manufacturing Facility in Shimoni, Kwale County. The scope comprised 3 onland and 6 near-shore borings. The survey was monitored and approved by Damen Shipyards (2021).
  • Ruzizi III Hydro Electric Power Project in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The investigations involved drilling of 5 boreholes to a maximum depth of 75 m below the ground level, with inclination of 30 – 75 degrees, permeability tests, SPT, laboratory testing and reporting (2021).
  • Approach bridges for the Mombasa Gate Bridge. JICA retained Rock Link to drill and investigate 41 boreholes to various depths. These boreholes were strategically drilled at the proposed foundations locations of the proposed approach bridges for the main Mombasa Gate Bridge (2021).
  • Geotechnical Investigation for the detailed design of the proposed cable-stayed, Mombasa Gate Bridge. Rock Link was contracted by Nippon Koei (on behalf of JICA) to drill a total of 12 boreholes. Of these, 8 were offshore, up to 80 m below sea level and 4 on-land to a maximum depth of 75 m below ground level (2021).
  • Proposed Laureland Homes in Upper Hill. 2 Geotechnical boreholes were
    advanced to a maximum depth of 30 m for the purposes of piling recommendations (2021).
  •  Proposed Rehabilitation and Development of Kisumu Shipyard. The project by Damen Shipyards involved the coring of 13 boreholes along existing quays (2021).
  • Proposed Multispecialty Hospital in Kitengela: A total of 10 boreholes were drilled, investigated, and reported (2020).
  • Residential Development in Kasarani: A geotechnical investigation was conducted in support of the proposed Sebco Heights apartments (2020).
  • Proposed Dam at Mpesa Foundation Academy, Thika: Rock Link conducted a geotechnical investigation to assist in the preliminary designs of a small earth dam (2020).
  • Olkaria 1 Unit 6 Power Development Project – Lot 1: This entailed slope stability assessment of a natural slope intended to support a steam pipeline. The analysis data were acquired from 3 boreholes and 1 standpipe piezometer (2020).
  • Proposed Terminal B1 Conveyors for Fertilizer, Clinker, and Coal for Grain Bulk Handlers Limited: The project site situated in Shimanzi area, Mombasa County, was subjected to a geotechnical survey where 4 boreholes were advanced to at least 15 m below ground level (2020).
  • Geotechnical investigation for the proposed development at Tuffsteel Complex, Mombasa Road: A total of 2 borehole and 2 trial pits were sampled (2020).
  • Proposed bridges along Maralal – Baragoi Road: An approx. 100 km stretch of road from Maralal to Baragoi was investigated through 10 borings to 25 m below ground level (2020).
  • Geotechnical investigations for the US Embassy, Nairobi: A total of 4 borings and
    2 test pits were sampled followed by careful restoration of the previously landscaped area (2020).
  • Proposed Green Field Project for Banana and Mango Pulp Processing, Taveta:
    Entailed coring of 1 borehole and 5 trial pits to determine the geotechnical parameters of the subsoil (2020).
  • Proposed Zitapark Aparments, Kisumu: Drilling and sampling of 1 borehole and 10 trial pits to adequately characterize the ground (2020).
  • Geotechnical investigations for the proposed Green Ship Recycling and Steel Making Facility: The project site was located in Kwale County and entailed coring 22 boreholes and conducting in-situ permeability tests (2020).
  • Geotechnical investigation for Eldoret bypass at Lemook Bridge and Cheplaskei Interchange. Involving drilling of 4 boreholes to a total depth of 61mm and 2 no. Boreholes to 15m, augering in 150mm diameter in soil to hard ground, S.P.T in interval and coring in 101mm,86mm diameter. Plate loading in 4 different points (2019).
  • Geotechnical & geophysical investigation for OLKARIA 1 unit 6 power development project lot 1 steam field. Involving drilling of 10 boreholes to a total depth of 10m each, augering in 150mm diameter in soil to hard ground, S.P.T in interval and coring in 101mm,86mm diameter. Plate loading in 4 different points (2019).
  • Ground investigation onshore drilling of no. 11 boreholes up to 30m, augering in 150mm diameter in soil to hard ground, S.P.T in interval and coring in 101mm, 86mm diameter in port for the proposed port fertilizer/coal/clinker terminal. Mombasa. Kenya (2019).

  • Geotechnical Investigations for the 400 Kv Loyangalani-Suswa Transmission Line. Drilling of 74 boreholes, each to a maximum depth of 15 meters, field and laboratory testing and reporting, DCP and resistivity surveys at the proposed tower locations, and preparation of a detailed Geological profile along the entire section (2015).

  • Geotechnical investigation for the proposed 35 MW power plant for Sosian- Menengai Geothermal Power Ltd at Menengai, Nakuru. The project involved core drilling of 9 borehores to a maximum depth of 30 meters, sampling, testing and reporting & Seismic survey and Seismic Hazard Assessment (2014).
  • Geotechnical investigation for the proposed 14 storey building for Upper Hill Chambers Ltd, in Upper Hill, Nairobi. The project involved core drilling of 5 borehores to a maximum depth of 20 meters, samplinf, testing and reporting, Geophysical survey and Environmental Impact Assessment (2014).
  • Proposed Ruiru II dam project in (Kiambu county): involved geotechnical Investigation: drilling of 7 boreholes to a maximum of 60 m, sampling, field and laboratory testings & DCP testing and reporting (2014).

    drilling, test pitting, lab testing and reporting (2014).
  • Proposed Hanger 3 Apron at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport: Involved borehole drilling, insitu testing, Seismic and Resistivity survey (2013).
  • Proposed Karimenu dam project in (Kiambu county): involved geotechnical Investigation: drilling of 20 boreholes to a maximum of 60 m, sampling, field and laboratory testings & DCP testing and reporting (2013).
  • Jumia Resort Expansion: involved geotechnical survey, insitu testing and Reporting (2013).
  • Lower Nzoia irrigation project: The proposed project involved geotechnical Borehole drilling, testing, sampling and reporting (2013).
  • Geotechnical investigation for the proposed developments in Runda (Kiambu County): The project involved core drilling of 11 borehores to 20 meters, and insitu testing (2013).
  • Proposed construction of 8 tonne poshomill (Eldoret): involved drilling Insitu testing and reporting (2013).
  • Geotechnical investigation and insitu testing for the Ring-around Nairobi Road Project (2013).
  • Ndakaini dam in Muranga county: The project involved geotechnical borehole drilling, insitu Testing, and reporting. (2012).
  • Geotechnical Investigation for Turkish Embassy in Nairobi: The project involved drilling of 7 boreholes, sampling, laboratory testing and preparation of Geotechnical Report (2012).
  • Proposed Lamu – Lokichogio Pipeline: Involved core drilling, augering soft rock material, test pit excavations, soil resistivity tests, positioning and measuring the boring points using GPS. A total of 16 boreholes were done along a stretch of over 1000 km within two months (2012).
  • Magwagwa Multipurpose Dam Development Project: Involved D.C.P soundings and test pitting at the dam site, Power house/Switch Yard areas and along the proposed 16 km irrigation canal in Nyakach, Kisumu County (2012).
  • Auguring for Soil sampling in Nyatike: Involved geotechnical investigation by augering 12 holes in Nyatike, Migori County. The soil samples were taken up to 20 m depth for laboratories analysis (2012).
  • Proposed City Square Sub Station: The project involved Resistivity Survey of five points, Vertical Electrical Sounding of five points and core drilling of two boreholes up to 10 m each, for the Proposed City Square Sub-Station, Upper Hill, Nairobi (2012).
  • Mombasa-Nairobi Transmission Line: This project involved core drilling of one borehole at the National park for the Proposed Mombasa-Nairobi Transmission Line. (2012).
  • Proposed Athi River 2 Gulf Power: This project involved one borehole drilling and eight point’s soil resistivity survey for the Proposed Athi River 2 Gulf Power Plant in Athi River. (2012).
  • Hydrogeological Surveys: These include over 30 borehole sittings in various parts of Kenya and within East Africa (2009-2013).
  • • Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA): Include several EIA’s for various proposed developments project within the country (2009-2014).
  • Other projects involved geological mapping, seismic and resistivity surveys for various projects within and outside the country.
